Goshala: A Sustainable Sanctuary for Sacred Cows
The Goshala at Madanapalle Ashram was established in Sri M's backyard. At The Sacred Grove, a retreat center for exploring consciousness, the cows were among the first inhabitants, arriving before the center's inauguration. Together, these two Goshalas are home to 29 contented cows of the Gir, Sahiwal, and Rathi breeds.
In alignment with Sri M's mission of sustainable living, these cows provide milk, buttermilk, and ghee for both The Sacred Grove kitchen and the community kitchen at Madanapalle Ashram. The Goshala also promotes ecological balance by supporting sustainable farming practices, producing biogas for cooking, and enriching the land.
